CYBERCRIME: Landeryou's IP Theft Spree

Dear readers

We reported on Wednesday that we had received information that Landeryou was currently engaged in criminal activity (didn't he learn from his imprisonment over the Optima theft, that crime doesn't pay?).

Now we reveal the secret that Landeryou didn't want you to know.

Landeryou has repeatedly stolen the Intellectual Property (IP) of scores of individuals, companies and groups, and used them on his website without permission or attribution. What is worse, Landeryou has engaged in cybercrime, through the constant and unapologetic theft of bandwidth.

We invite you to visit his Flickr account, where Landeryou hosts numerous stolen images.

Many of the images hosted on Landeryou's Flickr account are the Intellectual Property of prominent media groups such as Fairfax, News Ltd, and less prominent media groups such as Indymedia. Landeryou has also stolen the IP of political parties such as the Australian Labor Party, Liberal Party and the Greens, from organisations such as MU Student Union Ltd (a University of Melbourne owned subsidiary), and individuals' websites (such as MySpace).

Landeryou also engaged in cybercrimes (bandwidth theft) against major media companies (such as the New York Times) through linking directly to images hosted on their servers. This means that the bandwidth theft victim (NYT) has to pay for the image to be loaded on his website. This activity has been linked to the even more serious cybercrime of "Denial of Service" attacks.

This is no victimless crime - Landeryou benefits from substantial advertising revenue (as admitted here) from his slanderous website. This means that he benefits from the proceeds of his crime, which is now more seriously punished in Victoria after the State Government introduced new laws.

What can you do?

Cybercrime and IP theft are serious crimes.

The response by the Electoral Commission is one of hope, and it gives all Freedom Fighters a chance to personally hold Landeryou to account.

The response reads:

In relation to your assertion that Mr Landeryou has not updated his enrolment address, if you believe that Mr Landeryou does not live where he is enroled (and has not lived there for at least one month), an elector may lodge an objection to his enrolment under section 38 of the Electoral Act 2002 (extract attached). Please note that an objection must be in writing in the prescribed form (copy attached), must set out the ground for the objection and must be signed by the elector.

Team Make Landeryou Pay reveals that Andrew "fats" Landeryou has hypocritically exploited a child for his own financial benefit.

Andrew Landeryou has exploited a child in a gross and amoral political attempt to blacken the name of a political party (the wacky Greens Party), and is raking in the advertising dollars while doing so.

What's more, the child (inappropriately named by Landeryou) is a student at a specialist school.

Team Make Landeryou Pay has obscured the identity of the child.

On 6 November, Landeryou lambasted his muckraking rival and People Power co-founder, Stephen Mayne, saying:

In Mayne's column in the bankrupt scandal-prone email newsletter Nameless Mayne disgracefully referred to his three year child (we won't be mentioning the gender) by name and discussed personal happenings in his household that related to the child.

It was a disgraceful lapse in a reasonably well-established doctrine that politicians are very careful to protect their children from publicity of any kind. It's not an easy life for the kids of those in public life and that's the reason why responsible parent politicians are scrupulously careful to leave their kids well out of it.

Acting in such a putrid and exploitative manner towards his own kids is probably the only thing the OC might not have expected from Mayne. He has firmly established now that he has no limits or moral compass. He is clearly not capable of responsibly supervising children.

Landeryou, who advertises heavily on his slander-site, appears to revel in the fact that he is making advertising dollars off the image of a student at a specialist school. Landeryou, if he has any decency at all (and we don't think he does), will immediately promise to donate any and all income he has received from advertising since 9 November.

A commentor at sister-blog, Slanderyou2.blogspot.com has divulged the follow scandalous information:

I refer to the Electoral Act 2002, Section 23 (4) which states:

(4) If a person who is enrolled on the register of electors changes the address of his or her principal place of residence, the person must notify the Commission in writing of the person's new address within 21 days after becoming entitled to be enrolled on the register of electors in respect of living at that new address.
Penalty: 1 penalty unit.

So a penalty applies (ie a criminal sanction) for Mr Landeryou if he fails to update his electoral enrolement.

We strongly encourage Brother Other to confess to his criminal activities and hand himself over to the authories for imprisonment.
